Verse of the Day
The most straightforward type of daily devotional is the ever-popular Verse of the Day: a Bible passage for you to read each day.
There are several ways you can get your daily dose of Scripture. First, right on the Gospel.com homepage, we display a Bible verse of the day—just scroll down past the Featured Topics to get to it. (That daily verse is brought to you courtesy of our sister site, Bible Gateway.com.)
But there’s a few other ways to get that daily verse. Daily Manna from the Net not only brings you a daily verse, but lets you set up your own personal Bible reading plan, using the Bible version and reading pace of your choice. And E-Word Today sends a daily verse to your email inbox, along with some inspirational words of wisdom from Christian thinkers.
RBC Ministries
RBC Ministries produces some of the most popular devotionals in the Gospel.com community. Our Daily Bread is their classic daily devotional: a short, easily-readable bit of inspiration for each day of the week.
RBC also publishes My Utmost for His Highest, a series of devotionals written by Oswald Chambers. My Utmost features 365 devotionals (one for each day of the year) and is one of the most popular religious books ever written. RBC has put these short devotionals online.
Daily Wisdom
Daily Wisdom is another online favorite. Each day, Daily Wisdom features an insightful or challenging story designed to get you thinking about things just a little bit differently.
ACTS International
ACTS International is all about helping you find answers to your personal spiritual questions, and they’ve got two great devotionals along those lines: Daily Encounter, a short bit of inspiration and food for thought for your weekdays, and its companion Weekend Encounter, which contains a mixture of short articles, inspirational thoughts, and humor.InterVarsity Press
Most of the above devotionals provide short, inspirational thoughts to help kickstart your day. But if you’re the sort of person who wants a challenge in your morning devotional (you know who you are), then the Hard Saying of the Day devotional is right up your alley.
