When it comes to personal finances, I have learned to start with the Book of Proverbs...Then I recommend Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover.

Dave Ramsey has a course called Financial Peace University. It has not only improved my bottom line, but also my marriage. Both my husband and I can have intelligent conversation about money and know that we both have a say in where it will go! We are creating change within our family tree..I can't say enough about how great the program is...It has forever changed my life!

I have been pastoring since 1976. The scripture tells us the the earth is the Lord's and everything in it. So my money is not mine it is truly the Lord's. All he requires is to return to him a tithe. So I cannot separate the money that I use from my spiritual life. By obeying the Lord, Paul tells us in Philippians 4:19, that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. When we put God in every decision that we make with money then He will make it work for us. There is much more to say about this but there is not space here for it.

Excellent books that I have found helpful are:
Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace, Revisited"
Mary Hunt's "Debt-Proof Living"
Randy Alcorn's "Treasure Principle"
Robert Morris' "The Blessed Life"

I have also written two books on the subject - "I Was Broke. Now I'm Not." and "What Everyone Should Know About Money Before They Enter THE REAL WORLD"

Have a great day!
