Our oneness in Christ does not mean voluntarily being the same in any outward manner, including manner of worship, practices and non-essential teachings, among other things. For Christ on the cross abolished the commandments in ordinances, so that he might create in Himself one new man of the two (Jews and Gentiles), so making peace.

Rather, for us to be one, we first need to submit to our Head, and then we can be of the same mind, having the mind of Christ. Then the Lord Himself will minister through us, and it will be one ministering, the Lord’s, and our speaking will be one speaking, for it will be One who speaks.

Moreover there are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit, and there are varieties of ministries but the same Lord, and there are varieties of activities but the same God works all in all. But if we are one, any unbeliever who enters into our midst will be convicted by all, he will be judged by all; the secrets of his heart are manifested, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God, declaring that God is indeed among us!
