The Passion of Jesus. Jesus’ Crucifixion From A "Medical" Point of View. Warning! This article is not for the faint of heart, it is graphic! Avoiding Shark Attacks - #6035http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/avoiding-shark-attacks-60352010-03-02T11:49:59-05:00
Please, whatever your reasons for isolating yourself, get back to your family, get back to God's fellowship, get back to the church, get back to those you were serving the Lord with. You just can't afford to be swimming out there all by yourself. The sharks of hell love it when they can get you alone. Don't give them that opportunity to strike. The Fog Cannot Win - #6030http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hard-times/the-fog-cannot-win-60302010-02-19T11:22:23-05:00
The evil may have its hour of filling your horizon, but the Son's going to win! The grief will not last forever. Your prodigal will one day be carried home on the shoulders of the Good Shepherd. The doubts you're having in the darkness can't change what you heard from God when it was light. The answers you need will break through your confusion and struggle. The sadness of the fog is going to succumb to the joy of God's much more powerful sunlight. The Cancer That Always Kills - #6014http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hard-times/the-cancer-that-always-kills-60142010-01-28T10:04:41-05:00
The moment you reach out to Jesus, and in total trust take the cure that He died to give you, your hell is cancelled. Your sins are erased from God's book as if you'd never done them. Your cancer is cured. In the words of John 5:24 , you have literally "crossed over from death to life." Hurting but Passed By - #6008http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hard-times/hurting-but-passed-by-60082010-01-20T11:29:42-05:00
Sin is very serious business. It walls us off from God, from His love, and it brings us under the eternal judgment of the God we were made to live for. But God really loves you - enough to sacrifice the most precious thing He had to heal your broken relationship with Him. He allowed the body of His only Son to be broken on the cross for you as He died your death penalty for your sin. The Empty Chair at Christmas - #5988http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hard-times/the-empty-chair-at-christmas-59882009-12-23T09:10:52-05:00
We were made for God's love, but we've all missed God's love because we've lived our way instead of His way. And no other love has been able to fill His place in our life. It's not God's fault that we're living outside a deep, daily experience of His love. He didn't leave us. We've walked away with Him to do with our life what we wanted. Everything But a Captain - #5971http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/everything-but-a-captain-59712009-11-30T09:25:35-05:00
All these years our life has been a flight that doesn't go anywhere because we're missing our Captain - the God we were made by; the God we were made for. We've been trying to be our own captain, running a life that our Creator was supposed to run. So we're alienated from the only One who knows why we're here, the only One who can make it all make sense. When There's Nothing Left to Hold - #5970http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hard-times/when-there-is-nothing-left-to-hold-59702009-11-30T09:24:07-05:00
It's a fact of life. We will ultimately lose whatever, or whoever, we've been hanging onto except for the love of Jesus Christ, poured out on that cross. It's not just a cross. It's the only anchor that will be there when there's nothing left to hold onto. Hope amidst sorrow: death, funerals, and the power of the Gospelhttp://gospel.com/blog/index.php/2009/11/23/hope-amidst-sorrow-death-funerals-and-the-power-of-the-gospel/2009-11-25T14:13:23-05:00
You can hear the Gospel preached and discussed in a lot of places. But if you want to witness the Gospel with all of its power to proclaim hope amidst the horror of sin and death, perhaps that message is most clear when it is spoken amidst the pain and sorrow of a funeral. The Light That Weathers All Your Storms - #5964http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-mission/the-light-that-weathers-all-your-storms-59642009-11-20T09:31:09-05:00
I know a relationship with Jesus can weather every storm. He's loved and sustained us through losing a baby, through financial crises, through all the struggles of parenting, through major medical battles, and at the casket of so many we've loved. Jesus has never abandoned, never let down anyone who's put their life in His hands. He is the one certain light that your heart needs.
