It was strong enough to break the Bay Bridge and create traffic headaches for months. The Golden Gate Bridge literally has one leg on the San Andreas Fault, but it was undamaged by the same quake. The reason? The Bay Bridge was built rigid all the way through. The Golden Gate is solidly anchored, but it’s built to flex when there’s a whole lot of shakin’ going on. Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Grabbing the Golden Moment - #4365 http://hutchcraft.com/A-Word-With-You/Your-Relationships/Grabbing-the-Golden-Moment-4365 2008-08-27T16:04:30-05:00 Now in our word for today from the Word of God, Jesus is describing a window of opportunity that is easy to miss, an exciting scene that you have to capture when the moment is there. It's in John 9:4. Jesus says this: "As long as it is day, we must do the work of Him who sent Me. Night is coming when no one can work." He's describing what I'll call the "work of God window" - this brief spiritual opening during which you can accomplish an important spiritual objective. Then, just like those photo opportunities that we've missed, that golden moment is gone. Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Semper Gumby - #4030 http://hutchcraft.com/A-Word-With-You/Your-Relationships/Semper-Gumby-4030 2008-08-01T16:46:05-05:00 Now, a case could be made for putting that motto up in lots of places in our lives. In fact, when it comes to being the kind of person Jesus wants you to be, you can't really be "semper fidelis" - always faithful - unless you're "semper Gumby" - always flexible. Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Stand Up and Do Something - #3955 http://hutchcraft.com/A-Word-With-You/Your-Mission/Stand-Up-and-Do-Something-3955 2008-07-28T15:45:26-05:00 The Lord has so much work to do - in your church, in your community, in the lives of people who don't know Jesus died for them, among the hurting, the hungry, and the helpless. But as He surveys all the massive needs in our broken and sinful world, He cries out today as He did in Isaiah's day - "Whom shall I send? Who will go for Me?"
