“What difference does He make in your life?” They’re not so interested in your beliefs or the meetings you go to. What does Jesus do when He comes in a life? Well, your story is the answer to that question—your testimony—your Hope Story. This missionary was lost in a dense jungle, and he came upon a village in the middle of all these trees, and he asked a resident to lead him out. The villager said, “Okay.” Well, they walked for about an hour, and the villager walked ahead of him chopping his way through the foliage with a machete. Eventually, the missionary said, “Are you sure we’re going the right way? Isn’t there a path somewhere?” The villager smiled and he just said, “Friend, I am the path.” Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Soul Cancer - #8159http://hutchcraft.com/A-Life-That-Matters/Radio-Program/Soul-Cancer-81592009-01-05T12:02:57-05:00
...when you keep on replaying the bad that someone’s done to you, it’s eventually going to turn into that soul cancer called bitterness. The more you feed on how they’ve wronged you, the more bitter you’re going to become. ...the greatest saboteur of a life that matters is the sin that’s really the mother of all messes on this planet–pride. Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Thanksgiving Breakthrough - #8149http://hutchcraft.com/A-Life-That-Matters/Radio-Program/Thanksgiving-Breakthrough-81492008-11-25T11:37:44-05:00
If you belong to Jesus, I’m guessing there’s someone in your family or your close circle of friends who probably doesn’t have a relationship with Jesus. You want them in heaven with you, but the closer someone is, let’s be honest, the harder it is to talk to them about the only One who can get them there. That’s where this season of giving thanks comes in. Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - "24"- Jack Bauer's Biggest Battle - #8148http://hutchcraft.com/A-Life-That-Matters/Radio-Program/-24-Jack-Bauer-s-Biggest-Battle-81482008-11-25T11:37:11-05:00
A major national magazine carried an interview with the man who plays Jack Bauer. The title: “Heart of Darkness: Drinking to forget with TV’s hottest action hero.” That’s sad to read. Kiefer Sutherland said: “I should be able to wake up in the morning without going, ‘Oh, no! Where’s my boot?’ Or ‘Where am I?’ Or ‘One of your friends didn’t happen to bring my car home, did they?’ I don’t want to live like that.” He said, “I have a few drinks and I’m not so worried about tomorrow and not thinking about yesterday. Then the next day, I go, ‘Oh God, don’t let me do that again.’ So why do I do it again? And again? And again?’” A man with so much going for him and a losing battle with a darkness that keeps dragging him down. Imagine the half-time locker room after Roy Regals’ big mistake. He was huddled in the back corner with his head in his hands. And the coach announced, “The same team will take the field second half.” Regals went to his coach and he said, “I can’t do it, coach.” The coach said,”Roy, the game’s only half over. Get out there!” And he did. Now, his team lost the game, but sports writers would say they had never seen a player play like Roy Regals did that second half. There are verdicts given in court rooms all over the country every day, but most of them don't affect you. One verdict that really does affect you is the one that determines where you’ll spend eternity. ... It's God's verdict. You ask: "Was I good enough? Will I make it to heaven when I die? Was I guilty or not guilty with God?” The verdict is not in a sealed envelope. It's in an open book, and you don't have to wait to find your verdict from God. Every once in a while, comic strips have something really good to say. Have you ever seen “B. C.”? He is this little scraggly-haired caveman that makes some fairly modern observations. The best one appeared one Easter and began with B. C. outside a tomb with a rock next to it. Then, in the next panel, he goes in the tomb and looks around. In the third panel, he finds the tomb empty. Finally, in the last panel, he comes out, stands outside the empty tomb, and shouts one word: “Yes!” Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - What To Do With The Garbagehttp://hutchcraft.com/Life-Issues/Cleansing/What-To-Do-With-The-Garbage2008-11-19T15:34:06-05:00
