That crying person, they're a wounded person. And you can be part of God's healing in that person's life. We're here to do what Jesus would do if He were here in person, and that means when others see a nuisance, you'll see a need and you'll do something about it. You ARE important. You DO count. Value others and yourself.http://internetevangelismday.com/blog/archives/58522011-10-04T11:12:29-05:00
Christian futurist Patrick Dixon makes a thought-provoking 3-minute presentation. This is a 'must-watch'. Film review: The Tree of Life is a remarkable story echoing the experience of Jobhttp://internetevangelismday.com/blog/archives/49272011-07-15T12:06:37-05:00
The Tree of Life is a remarkable and surreal film. When did you last see a mainstream production which started with a quote from the book of Job, and then took a 'Job's journey' through pain to healing acceptance? Arcade Fire video The Wilderness Downtown: pain, growing up, healing, which Jesus can answerhttp://internetevangelismday.com/blog/archives/24442010-09-03T15:20:59-05:00
Remarkable video from Chris Milk (who has previously worked on the Johnny Cash Project) and friends at Google who have produced an experimental HTML5 multi-screen video called The Wilderness Downtown, based on Arcade Fire’s new song We Used To Wait. The concept is thought-provoking (read recent online comment) and the lyric deals with issues of pain, bewilderment and hope, which are therefore valuable conversation starters. There’s big potential to use in a youth group or discussion setting. Some leaders are already considering how to use it as a component of an outreach meeting. It’s also a concept that could be adapted to extend this ministry potential. Breaking Through Thick Ice - #6062http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/breaking-through-thick-ice-60622010-04-06T09:44:21-05:00
As you pray, God may very well show you things that He wants you to do, things He wants you to change. They may be part of what has created the ice. Tell Him, "Lord, here's my heart. Take it wherever You want it to go." And then open yourself up to the warmth of His love, and grace, and goodness, and His amazing ability to do whatever it takes to get our attention. The Painful Road to Greater Results - #6024http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/the-painful-road-to-greater-results-60242010-02-17T14:47:22-05:00
Before the fruit, comes the pruning. I imagine if a vine could talk, he'd say to the pruner, "You're killing me, man!" And the gardener would say, "I know it hurts, but I'm actually removing things you don't really need so you can explode with greater fruit." That may be exactly what's happening in your life right now. It doesn't feel good, but it is good. God is lovingly removing things you think you need. Flying High, Falling Flat - #5997http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/flying-high-falling-flat-59972010-01-05T09:26:41-05:00
Every time God does something good in your life, the devil is there with some cheap shot he wants to use to rob you of the joy of what God has done. Don't fall for it. It's like you've just won the Super Bowl, you're walking off the field, and your defeated opponent says, "I'll make you pay for this." And he gives you a bloody nose. Yes, he hurt you a little, but he can't change the outcome. You still won, and nothing he can do can change the victory. Hope in Five Words - #5984http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/hope-in-five-words-59842009-12-17T09:17:07-05:00
When Jesus starts moving, He's on a rescue mission. In fact, the name God told Mary and Joseph to give Him that first Christmas, Jesus, literally means "Jehovah rescues." Every time we say "Jesus," we're saying why He came - to rescue. How to Banish the Darkness - #5949http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/how-to-banish-the-darkness-59492009-10-29T09:29:49-05:00
When it's the darkest, when it's the hardest to praise Him, that is when you need to praise Him the most, because praise is that blinding light from heaven that dispels the darkness and banishes your enemy. Beauty From Brokenness - #5948http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/beauty-from-brokenness-59482009-10-28T09:59:58-05:00
They can see through your wounds the amazing beauty of a joy and a hope that only a Savior like Jesus can give. If you'll turn away from your despair, and maybe bitterness, anger, and self-pity, and give your brokenness to Him, He can do that miracle for you. The songwriter was right when he said, "All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife. But He made something beautiful of my life."
