If God was ever going to turn His back on me, it would have been when His Son was hanging on that cross. But He turned His back on His Son - who was carrying our sin - so He would never have to turn His back on us. So, "nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39). His is the only love in the world that will never disappoint you, never divorce you, never die on you. The Bar Stays Where it Is - #6530http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hindrances/the-bar-stays-where-it-is-65302012-01-20T10:08:36-05:00
When sin gets close to home, it can teach us how to be more merciful than we've been before, how to be less judgmental. And it can give us a wonderful opportunity to show God's unconditional love for people whether they clear the bar or not. He didn't for the man He loved deeply, and we can't either. What a Christmas this could be. What a new beginning! Being broken can actually drive you into the loving arms of Jesus Christ where you can finally be whole. Don't let anything, including your own runaway emotions or passions, cause you to sacrifice the best of sex and the best of love. Remember, it's like snow. It's beautiful when it's fresh. Something Better Than Leftovers - #6491http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/something-better-than-leftovers-64912011-11-28T11:13:51-05:00
There's a tendency to let down on living so we won't have regrets, and won't have anything to fix, or repair, or hide. It's easy to let down at home. That's why we have to be careful to lead a blameless life. When we get home, we let down, we're careless because we think no one's watching. But the biblical priority is put on how you live at home. Exciting timelapse from Dustin Farrell. Make sure you watch it in full screen (that's the 4-arrows icon bottom-right of the YouTube player). The bigger your monitor, the better. The Shark Syndrome - #6454http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/the-shark-syndrome-64542011-10-07T11:22:33-05:00
Here's a good prayer for today, "Dear Lord, help me. Teach me to be an over-looker." Don't add up the hurts and the wounds and pounce on them. Let it go! Who needs any more sharks anyway? Swim on by. Dad's Army, Captain Mainwaring and why we love the charactershttp://internetevangelismday.com/blog/archives/57832011-09-29T18:52:01-05:00
The flags are surely at half-mast in Walmington-on-Sea, the quintessentially-English south-coast town of Dad's Army. Farewell to its co-creator David Croft, who has just died. But what can we learn about effective writing from this show? Loving Me Ugly - #6441http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/loving-me-ugly-64412011-09-19T09:18:43-05:00
Why are you living away from home, from His "take you as you are" kind of love? Oh, maybe you're not in the pigpen yet. Well, don't wait until you hit the wall at the end of a dead-end street. And even if you have, head home. You will find a Father running to meet you and to clean you up and hug you. True Woman: Loving Those Relatives!http://truewoman.com/?id=16012011-03-03T13:39:03-05:00
I always said that if Linda had been different, we could have been the best of friends. But she always seemed to have a wall up, and to keep me at arm’s length.
