In this devotional, we're challenged to rethink the simple message of the Gospel. Do all religions lead to the same God?http://gospel.com/blog/index.php/2009/11/10/do-all-religions-lead-to-the-same-god/2009-11-11T16:50:27-05:00
Do you think that all religions lead to the same God—and if not, how would you answer somebody who asked you why not? Is Batism Necessary for Salvation?http://gospel.com/blog/index.php/2009/10/22/is-batism-necessary-for-salvation/2009-10-28T10:53:20-05:00
There’s a lot of nuances to baptism (sprinkling v. immersion, adult v. child, etc.), but I’d like to focus on the core question of whether or not it’s essential for salvation. What's your perspective? Is there such a thing as the Age of Accountability?http://gospel.com/blog/index.php/2009/10/23/is-there-such-a-thing-as-the-age-of-accountability/2009-10-28T10:52:42-05:00
The idea behind the age of accountability is that before a certain age a child is not responsible for their actions. If they die before reaching the age of accountability, they are saved. After that, they are responsible for their own salvation. What do you think? One "Unloseable" Hope - #5944http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/one-unloseable-hope-59442009-10-22T10:07:52-05:00
That unloseable relationship with God comes only one way, because we're away from the God we need so much; away by our choice, not His. We've repeatedly chosen our way instead of His way and we've built an eternal wall between us and God. A wall that God Himself acted to tear down by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for all our sins when He died on the cross. Burned in the Bible - a Christian perspectivehttp://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%203:12-15&version=NIV2009-10-08T13:30:21-05:00
On God's day of judgment, God will carefully examine what we have done with our lives. God will save all of those who called on Jesus Christ, but believers who have wasted opportunities to serve God will see their flimsy works collapse beneath the weight of God's scrutiny. "Save" in the Bible: John 3:17http://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:17&version=NIV2009-10-08T11:31:41-05:00
Despite the persistence of humans in sinning against God, He didn't send his son to judge us. Jesus came to the world to save us from our sins, in defiance of all human reason. Save me in the Bible - a Christian perspectivehttp://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joel%202:32&version=NIV2009-10-08T11:07:48-05:00
Joel writes that all who call on the LORD on His day will be saved and delivered. Redemption in the Bible: Colossians 1:13-14http://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians%201:13-14&version=NIV2009-10-06T17:06:27-05:00
Redemption is simply the forgiveness of our sins, and restoration to a relationship with God. Through his sacrifice, Jesus redeemed us and brought us into the kingdom of God, rescuing us from the kingdom of sin and darkness. Enemies of God - a Christian perspectivehttp://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%205:9-11&version=NIV2009-09-25T10:39:54-05:00
Before we were saved by Jesus, we weren't just lost--we were actually enemies of God, because all sin and those who practice it are God's enemies. Fortunately, He provides a way to remove our sin and bring us into His family.
