What the Storm Left Behind
It is in those powerless moments that we realize, "I'm not enough. I can't do this." And we reach for the nail-pierced hand of the Man who took all the storm of the judgment for my sin - so I could go to His heaven. Jesus is the One who can finally calm the lifelong storm in a restless soul. With His stormproof peace.
Cameras Everywhere - #6736
Jesus does what no one else in the universe can do. He hits the delete button that erases a lifetime of sin.
A Heroic Ambassador - #6734
For a Jesus-ambassador, that message is clear. 1 Corinthians 2:2 - "Nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." Uncluttered by politics, my church, or my religion, personal hobby-horses, culture issues, or lifestyle attacks. Just Jesus and His cross. A message so eternally important that it needs to be delivered, not in my churchy "Christianese" language, but in the non-religious language of the people that I'm there to reach.
Remove Your Mask Before You Enter - #6733
When you come to God honestly, and you admit your need, and you begin your relationship with Him, well you'll enter His presence lost. But you'll leave found, and you will finally know that you belong to Him for real.
Keep the Child Alive - #6732
The first snow? Christmas? Amusement parks? They may or may not bring out the child in you. But knowing Jesus, trusting Jesus? That should keep the child alive in you. And I am so grateful that what Jesus did for us He said requires simply the faith of a little child to possess it. What He did on the cross, dying for our sins, loving us enough to pay the penalty we deserve, that that is something a child can grasp, and theologians can explore the depths of.
Unintimidated - #6731
When you size up your situation, your opposition in light of God's power, you are ready to go on offense. You don't need to play defense. Hey, maybe the enemy has demanded your surrender. Well, answer with a prayer-ignited cannon shot, "I shall never surrender! I shall never retreat!"
The Rooster in Your Heart - #6730
Peter graduated from spiritual treason to spiritual greatness after his denial. Why? He let God break his heart over his sin. He responded emotionally to the stabbing pain in his heart. Do you? Spiritual disaster begins when you begin to quench the Spirit; you ignore the call that should wake you up.
No Name Like This Name - #6729
The challenge is, will those who love the name of Jesus be as bold to speak that name as those who defile that name? See, they'll talk about Him openly, boldly. Unbelievers are bold; they'll talk about Jesus all day irreverently. Isn't it time we quit choking on that name?
I'll Become What You Call Me - #6728
Tell the people around you what they could be with the strengths that are there, even if you only see a little bit of it. Because by naming it, you can nurture it.
Someone's Been Talking About You - #6727
You are not traveling this road alone. Someone's talking about you. Jesus is talking to His Father about you. Man, that's good to know. That makes all the difference.
