The message - a Christian perspective
Jesus commanded his disciples to go out into Israel, preaching the message that the kingdom of God was near. Our mission today is the same: to proclaim to the world that Jesus saves, and that he is bringing about the kingdom of God.

Fishers of men in the Bible: Matthew 4:18-20
Jesus' disciples weren't, for the most part, wealthy and educated elites. They were everyday average people--in this case, fishermen who left their nets behind when Jesus called them to "fish" for something more important than physical food.

"Preach" in the Bible: Romans 10:13-15
How will people learn about the Gospel if Christ's followers on earth aren't willing to tell them? This is an exhortation for Christians to go out preaching and sharing what they know with everyone who will listen.

Disciple in the Bible: Matthew 28:18-20

Witness in the BIble: Acts 1:8
When Jesus sent his disciples out to bring his Gospel to the world, he sent them out as witnesses: people who had seen the Gospel played out firsthand, and who were eager to share what they had experienced with others. Today, we are still called to be witnesses to what God has done in our lives.
