Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Focusing On the Falls - #5178
Let's say your son or daughter brings home four Bs and one D. What do we spend most of our time on? The four Bs? Oh, no, we do most of our talking about the one D. Too often, we do that with every area of their life. Minimizing - overlooking what they're doing right - and focusing on what needs improvement. And we're trying to build them up by showing them their failings and what they need to work on, right? But I wonder if we keep doing that, aren't we actually tearing them down?

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Very Different Children of the Very Same Father - #5208
Isn't it time we made an effort to try to worship together, to learn from each other's unique perspective, to start praying together for a mighty move of God in our area, to reach out to a community that will sit up and take notice when we work together?

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Battles That Really Matter - #4000
Someone we loved was in trouble. It was obvious that we had to drop everything to help put him back together. It was a long, grueling day, much of it spent with a specialist - but with a lot of physical pain for our son and emotional pain for us - his healing began. There are times in our lives when our priorities need a shakeup - and we need to focus the best we've got on helping a loved one in trouble. It happened to Abram in our word for today in the Word of God.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Human Files - #4007
Now, all the time our kids were growing up, we had this tapestry hanging up in our room - it said, "Children learn what they live." I guess. Our recent amusing experience with our grandson was only a reminder of the truth of that. Except the results of children learning what they live often are anything but amusing. Whether you realize it or not, your child, your grandchild - any child you're around very much - is listening, recording, and sooner or later reproducing what they have experienced or witnessed with you.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - In the Middle of Your Love - #4035
our children are supposed to be caught in the overflow of you and your spouse loving one another, not loved instead of you loving one another. And it may be that you have allowed that love to atrophy, to drift, to turn to resentment ... or coldness ... or neglect. And while your child is still getting loved, they aren't in the middle of your love for one another. A child's security, a child's stability is in knowing that the love from which they came is still going strong!

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Looking For Daddy - #4054
In fact, maybe for you the word "father" is a hurting word. In one way or another, your father wasn't there for you - physically, financially, emotionally, supportively. You went to the door, but there was no one there. That leaves an emotional deficit in a life that can make you feel incomplete, cheated, unexplainably lonely, trying to compensate for the lack of a father's love in countless ways, some that leave you even more scarred.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - A Safe Place For Your Child - #4076
If you're a parent, you have at least one of those "lambs" that the Lord carries in His arms close to His heart. Maybe your lamb is pretty big now - maybe all grown-up - but whatever their age, they are still your lambs.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Children of the Quake - #8067
I’ve worked with an awful lot of young people over the years and they’ve struggled to live a life that matters because of the trauma they’ve experienced in the quake in their family—the anger and the conflict and the attacks and the names they’ve been called.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Great Splitter-Upper - #5234
Favoritism inevitably leads to conflict; it leads to bitterness, and even to trying to get even and a loss of respect for the leader who is showing that partiality.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Lessons That Shape Your Child's Life - #5240
Children learn what they live, for better or for worse. For all our words as parents, it's ultimately what our children live that makes them into the people they become. And God doesn't give a human being any greater trust, any greater responsibility than the shaping of a person He made in His image.
