Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The House We Didn't Finish - #4325
That's not the only house a parent intended to build and never got done. In fact, many of us Moms and Dads knew how we wanted our family to be -- how we still want it to be -- but somehow the home, the family we intended to build never got finished, did it? Even as our children were leaving for college, Karen and I talked about how quickly the years had melted away and how we were feeling there was so much unfinished business in our kids' lives.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - When You Don't Like What's On Your Plate - #4326
I know you have days like that -- when you don't particularly like what's on your plate. Or you don't like how much there is of it. As a parent, you may have to handle some things that really aren't much fun these days. As a son or daughter, or a student, you've been stuck with some jobs that you really don't want to do. At work, it's getting pretty messy, pretty heavy, pretty boring. At church or in your ministry, you're not particularly liking the way it's going in what you're trying to do for the Lord. But it's just part of life -- days, and sometimes lots of days, when we don't like what's on our plate.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - What They're Trying to Tell Us - #4569
There is no more important lesson for a parent to remember than this: behind your child's deed is a need. And you won't affect the deeds until you do something about the needs that drive those deeds. A wise dad was confiding his concern to me the other day about his son's use of alcohol - that's the deed. Then he said, "You know, there's some need there." He's right.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Never Without Your Weapon - #4621
Israeli soldiers are respected all over the world for their military ability. That day in Jerusalem, I saw one reason why. They know something every follower of Christ has to remember. We have to always be prepared for war, and it doesn't stop because you're relaxing. Always carry your weapon - the artillery of God's words loaded in your heart.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - When the Container Lies to You - #4201
The container promised me one thing - but what was inside was very different. That's an experience every one of us has had - when we reached for something based on what it was supposed to give us, only to be disappointed when we found out what was really inside. That deception is, in fact, the very nature of sin, and it's why we end up with scars and messes we never knew were going to be a part of.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Moving With the Quake - #4700
The Bible acknowledges that we will make plans; the question is whether those plans are rigid - if we're rigid about having it our way. That "but" after the part about our plans tells me that God has the right to pre-empt my plan, or delay my plan, or redirect my plan. After all, that's what "Lord" means. Often He leads us toward a certain outcome, only to surprise us with an interruption, or with the realization that He did want us on this road, but for a destination other than the one we expected.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Avalanche Zone - #4741
The Bible says that every one of us has decided to live our life outside of God's boundaries - even the most religious of us. God insists on truth, for example, and countless times we've settled for much less than telling the truth. God says we can have no other gods before Him, and we've pre-empted Him as the center of our life and pretty much put ourselves in the center of our universe.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Eight Questions to Get it Right - #4748
When you go for God's insight, when you have God's insight, it produces a truly humble person, not a proud person. No looking down on others, putting down others, proceeding in arrogance and self-reliance. Wise people are very unimpressed with themselves and totally impressed with God and their need of Him. So go for the wisdom that gives you God's perspective on what's going on. And for all those you influence, you will be a personal agent of the ways of God in their lives!

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Preparing the Battlefield - #4291
In James 5:16, our word for today from the Word of God, He simply says, "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." The King James Version puts it this way: "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." No matter how you translate it, God is making it clear that praying for a person or a situation is ultimately decisive.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - From His Hand to Yours - #4759
God has trusted each of us with some gifts from His hand. If it's not material things, it may well be personal traits, personal abilities or influence that are just as valuable, or more valuable than money. Whatever you've been given, who are you using it for? For your advancement, your agenda, or God's agenda and the advancement of His kingdom?
