"Bear" in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 10:13

Temptation strikes every one of us, and it can often seem that temptation is just too hard to resist. But this verse tells us that God never allows us to be tempted beyond what we're able, with his help, to successfully resist.

I have heard this scripture used so many times when facing some difficult life situations. However, i cant stand it when people say this to me as a way of comforting me. My friend and i discussed this verse of scripture and her point of view was that we all have a choice and there is always another way out. Yet, if the human mind cannot conceive another way of a situation then the choice would be to take matters in to their own hands by choosing death. If a person feels hopeless and helpless about a situation then to them there is no other way out. It would have to take some sort of divine intervention or something to help them see there is a better way. This is one verse of scripture that leaves me with questions all the time. There ARE circumstances that we may feel is too much to bear.

  2. david777 says:

here Christ is talking about the temptations ins this life – not circumstances – these seem to much to bear when we fail to trust Christ
HE stats My load is light give me your burdens

  3. david777 says:

Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.

My one year old daughter died suddenly last Christmas Eve in an accident that was my fault. I don’t know what you are facing or have faced but I can just tell you what happened to me. There have been times that I have been so overwhelmed and didn’t think I could make it one more day. I literally had to yell out for Jesus to please help me. Jesus is alive and He DID rescue me and help me to keep going. I believe His promise that He will give us a way out when it is too much. Right after that we found out we were expecting a baby and later found out it was a girl. This Christmas we will be holding our 3 month old rescue in our arms.
