Boaz in the Bible - a Christian perspective

The story of Ruth and her relationship with Boaz is a many layered one and deeply set in Hebrew tradition. In this passage Ruth is told to go to Boaz because he is a Kinsman-redeemer for her. He tells her that he is flattered, but that there is one even closer to her that should take that position. Boaz sends her away with 6 measures of barley in the middle of the night.
