Brother against brother in the Bible - a Christian perspective

Jesus told us that following him would not be easy. Brother will betray brother and turn against each other. Father and children will be torn apart. For Jesus' sake all men might hate us.

I don’t know if this is the right place to put this but I just finished reading a book that has left me disturbed and puzzled. The book is “A Matter of Time” by Beverly Byrne. The primise of the book seems to be that the New Testament is a network of lies created to unify the early church and vilify the Jews. That it is full of anti-simetisism and, at one point, even suggested that Jesus separated himself from the Jews. I don’t understand this at all. I read the Bible often, old and new and I have not found this to be true. My understanding of the life of Jesus is that He came to do exactly what was done. He was sent to be the only perfect sacrifice for out sins. It is only through His willingness to take on the mantel of our sin and to die as atonement for our sins that we have the opportunity for salvation at all. What avenue for salvation was there before His sacrifice? Jesus was not killed by the Jews, he was crucified by the Romans not at the behest of the people but at the behest of the chief priest and elders (Mat 27:1) Do you even believe that Christ, being who He was could have been put on that tree if He did not will it to be so?” Jesus was born a Jew, He lived His life as a Jew, He was raised in the traditions and faith of the Jewish religion and more importantly, He was sent specifically to the Jews to lead them back to His Father’s will. The primary promise of Jesus was sent to the Jews first and only through their rejection of Him were the rest of us offered the salvation that the Jews rejected. However, the early church consisted mostly of Jews who believed Jesus was the promised messiah and followed Him and His teachings. Jesus said Himself that He did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill. (Mat 5:17) From what I read, His message was one of love not of hate, of forgiveness not of vingence, of deliverence not of loss. How then can anyone say that the Gospel’s are full of hate? I am eternally gratful to the Jews for their rejection of Jesus because of it I have been given the most precious gift that any human can possibly have. The love of My Father in Heaven and the forgiveness of my sins through the sacrifice of His beloved son, my savior and closest friend, Jesus Christ. Linda Conti, a searcher for truth. “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
