How Often Should Christians Celebrate Communion? - The Gospel.com Blog

I’ve been in churches that do it every week and others almost never. They all have their reasons, but there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on how often we should celebrate the Lord’s supper. How often do you think Christians should celebrate communion? Share your thoughts!

Jesus said we should do it always in rememberance of Him. Christians can celebrate communion as often as they can. In my church we celebrate communion weekly. I prefer every day becos is strenthen our spiritual life.

    Thanks.

Christians of nowadays almost 99% of us are eating into condemnation. We need change in our churches, so that we can experience God’s presence in our midst.

It’s true, Jesus said we should do it always in rememberance of Him, but why his first disciples understood that they should do it once a week? the first day of the week as related Acts 20:7. thanks

I agree with Mercy Unuh’s statement. I believe it is in the heart and the desire to perform communion. I don’t think that it is required to be done on a set timetable but as each of us is moved to remember Him. We should not judge others in this debate but instead lift and encourage one another to remember Jesus more and more often.

The Lord’s Supper we should do only in the first day of the week, as is describe in Acts 20:7. Any one who listen to other gospel… in Galatians 1:6-9 or Revelations 22:18-19. Clearly stated not to add not to take out from the Gospel. Paul put in danger His live to celebrate the first day of the week the Lord’s supper. We must follow what the Gospel say not what men whant to do. Who is belong to the Lord Jesus and accept Him as His only saviour, He or She is with Him all the time of our life. In the Lord’s Supper we celebrate what He did for all of us. Like a birth day came once a year and the Lord’s Supper is only in the First day of the week.

At the Church I attend (Baptist) at first we celebrated the Lords supper each quarter. Then at a Deacons meeting I suggested that we celebrate Lords supper once a month. My reasoning for the change is that in our constitution we have two ordnances: Baptism by immersion and we must have the Lords supper and all the Deacons agreed. When it was brought up at a business meeting to make the change it received a unanimous ‘Amen’.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
