I have a friend that is new to the faith and she is hungry for the word of God. She has a hunger to know what the scripture in Galatians 5:19-21 means. Is it possible to get the definitions to the works of the flesh so that i may pass them on to my friend?
Thank you for any help you can give me concerning this matter.

@lee you’re best bet would be to contact a trusted pastor who can take some time to answer your questions; however, if you just want to get a general idea of what that passage means, here’s a basic commentary on that verse via biblegateway.com:

I pray everyday that God will give me strength, i should say I pray when I am having a bad day. I suffer with sleep apnea, I had seizure March 3, 2008 and another on January 10, 2010. after the first one I suffered Thur a year of not being able to drive and that was my main focus, I had a brain scan but the neurologist said no indication of any brain trauma and let it drop. After the second one I started going Thur test, one was a sleep test and it showed as many as fifty time that I stopped breathing. I am now looking at a mouth piece to aloign my jaw or a cpap machine. I have been going Thur test since January tenth, I am frustrated because it is taking so long. I pray God will give me peace but I spend most of my days crying out to God but I don’t seem to communicate.

Sorry, but I didnt think that the link to gateway provided any information on the actual fruits of the spirit. It discussed Pauls use of the spirit to show them the difference between living as a legal christian and living as a christian who’s heart is circumsized to the Lord. It did not provide anything about how God showed his LOVE for us on the cross, how we need to focus on self control instead of controlling others so that we may focus on God and learn more about ourselves and him daily, or PATIENCE – and how sometimes being patient and allowing God to work results in better things or the JOY that comes from knowing and talking to God daily and sharing his will for your life. @ nebolady: sorry to hear of your problems, it appears that God is with you and helping you find a diagnoses, patience is hard, it helps though to have a strong church family and Christian Friends who pray for you and with your regularly. If you don’t have this I would suggest looking for a new church or even starting a group of others with epilepsy or sleep apnea and learn from eachother to rely on God and eachother to up the learning curve. God be with you in your journey.

  6. Pam Goudeau says:

To the person suffering from epilepsy,I recommend praying in the spirit. It not only edifies your spirit but your body as well and may the God of all comfort, console and give you peace in Jesus name. Amen

The goodness of God is worth waiting for. God is truly good Even during the most difficult times of suffering, the believer can say that God is worth depending on. He is good all the time, and his goodness is not something he keeps to himself. Jeremiah made it clear that God is good to those that wait for him.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
