jamie, we have zero control over other people, places or things 99% of the time… usually it’s something going on inside of me that i allow for others to affect me .. ultimately i’m 100% responsible for my thoughts, feelings and ultimately my behavior … less about me and more about serving others gets me back to matt 22:37-39

  7. PETER says:

What makes Christian life easy is faith trust confidence in The Lord as well as love of the Lord. Just surrender every area of your life to Him, He is able to give peace that is beyond our understanding. PETER.

I have prayed daily for my daughter who is involved with a very abusive person. She wants to start her life over, but keeps being influenced by this man she is involved with. We have done everything humanly possible to help her see the light. I have allowed my faith to be tossed around daily. Just when I think I have let go, I grabbed on to worry and torment with the situation. Please pray for my daughter, and me and my husband as parents. Do you have any words other than pray to encourage?

  12. Teri says:

I was so touched by your situation with your daughter, because I too have had the same sort of situation with my daughter. It reminds me of the story of Jacob and the angel when Jacob told the angel he would not let go unless the angel first blessed him. We have to hold on to God through these difficult situations with our children that we are powerless to change and expect a blessing for our children’s lives. I think we need to be there to comfort them and to let them know we are praying for them and encourage them to do the same, but ultimately they need to take that step towards change. I pray for your faith and strength and wisdom for your daughter. God bless you

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
