Double portion - a Christian perspective


As Elijah prepared to depart the earth, he asked his apprentice Elisha what Elisha wanted from him. Rather than asking for possessions or for worldly status, Elisha simply asked for a "double portion" of the spirit that empowered Elijah to serve God to effectively.
