Dutch: Samuel was old & his sons wicked. The people wanted a king. God gave them Saul the son of Kish. Saul rescued Israel from the Ammonites, but he did not fully obey God. He kept King Agag of Amalek alive & offered a sacrifice to God which only the priest could do. God rejected him as king.
