Elders in the Bible: 1 Timothy 5:17
The elders of a church--the group of people who manage the church and its ministries--are singled out for praise here. In particular, elders involved in preaching and discipleship are critically important to the life of any church.

I have been advised that my husband may not continue in ministry unless I, as his wife, work alongside him – please could you confirm if this appears in the Bible?
I think the question is, has your husband asked you to work alongside him and/or are you supporting him in his works? We as wives are to be our husbands “Help Meets”. If he has asked you and you refuse, then you may want to take a closer look at what God’s word asks of you. On the other hand, if you are supporting him and he is ok with you not working alongside him, it should not be a problem with the congregation. If his ministry is with the children or youth, they may want a couple and it is probably safer for your family (appearance wise) nothing could be alleged. I don’t believe it is biblical to deney him in his ministry unless, he is in sin. Always confirm what you are told or what you read with the Bible, it will have all of your answers.
