When should we give? Is giving more important than taking care of our own debts?

I believe if we give with a cheerful heart & before we pay our debts our debts will be taking care of one way or another. God can do more with that 10% than I can.
how can u give what u do not have,,I am a working poor,,
well, here is an idea. turn off your internet service. If you are so poor, that is not something you have to have. Then you can use that $50 or $70, (depending on what speed service you are using) to give to God.
I bet you can think of other things you may be paying for you don’t really need such as cable tv.
ernie says: I believe that to tithe is really important. Just remember that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh.
please state your opinions about tithing when you are up to your neck in bills and tithing will just cause hardships and financial stress in your life as well as in your family,s
Concerning tithing, God wants us to be good stewards of the things he allows us to have. The issue is obedience, is God telling you in your need to give and trust him, or are you assuming that’s what he wants. Pray and get the mind of the Lord on your situation. It may be that God wants you to give like the widow at the temple, who only had two pennies to give, but Jesus said she gave more then all of them because she gave out of her need. It’s not the amount you give but the attitude. Remember out of all the people that gave that day Jesus noticed the poor widow, he cares for you and your need. Trust him when all else seems to be falling apart…
If we would only humble ourselves, and live within our means, we could budget to buy things we really need outright, like people used to do 60 years ago. If we’d set it aside first it’d be easy to tithe. Add up all the interest you pay on your mortgage, credit cards, and car loans. We have fallen into the way of the world telling us we must have it now; when in truth we can wait, or make do with less. We can wait while we fill God’s need for His flock. How can we gladly give 29% to a store to buy what we could live another month without, and refuse His tithe outright? Doesn’t our church community deserve that much for ministering year long to us?
