Why Did God Create Satan?
God created all things in the beginning, including Satan. Why would God deliberately create something so evil and powerful?

God wouldn’t create an evil being. Lucifer was once the most beautiful angel in heaven. However, ego set in and he eventually decided that he was higher than his creator. Sin started in the heart of Lucifer. he even deceived a third of the angels which became his demons. Back then angels had free choice like us, but ever since then they don’t have free choice they already made their choice.
God cast satan down to the void earth. Sometime after that God decided to make a man. The devil was then roped off to just one tree in the garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. After man and woman had proved themselves God was going to cast satan and the fallen angels into hell, but man sinned and sin has spread through the human race ever since. Thank God that we have Jesus now!
Read about it in the 14th chapter of Isaiah.
hmm tell me where can i find in the bible where it talks about the way tat u just describe i have heard a great many things about how saan was this an this an how he was cast out of heaven but i have not come across it for myself
Who is Satan?
God created Satan as the head of the Angels. He was at one time the most powerful, intelligent and beauti¬ful angel in heaven. Known as Lucifer (Angel of Light), he was second only to God Himself (Ezekiel 28:12-15). But, because of the desire to be like God, Lucifer rebelled against God and was kicked out of heaven along with one-third of all the angels (I Tim. 3:6; Rev. 12:4). Thus, Satan and the demons are actually fallen angels. The Bible also mentions other “Principalities and Powers”, (Rom. 8:38-39) which we do not know much about. They can be a different class of demons or even other created “entities” that the Bible does not expand on.

why did God create evil….or why did he allow satan,if he knows all. then he knew satan would betray him.
Evil stemmed from Satan and his rebellion (Isaiah 14:12-15), and is continued on by humanity (Matt. 15:18-19). Prior to the Fall, man lived in total paradise; it was rebellion against God that caused sin to enter and corrupt everything. We turned against God and hated Him and pursued our lives in destructive endeavors against His will (Gen. 1:28: 3:17-18; Matt. 24:22; Rom. 3:19-12; 5:12-19; 8:22; Eph. 2:3). Sin is continuing the rebellion against God and His created order. All have fallen short of God’s standards. “Whole evil is in man, and whole man is in evil,” said Spurgeon. Sin has affected all of our being and the entire world (Rom. 3:21-26). Even if we have not committed any evil, it is still our nature to do so. It all comes down to this: we all have sinned—some more than others. But, the smallest sin falls way short of God’s requirements. This is what “total depravity” and “original sin†are all about (1 Cor. 15:42-49; 2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 4:24; Phil. 3:20; Col. 3:10).
We, as humans, chose to fall away from God and His perfection. God desires us to live the best way possible, and experience the most out of life with happiness and joy (Matt. 1:28-29). Yet, we live in a world corrupted by sin, so everything is degraded from what it was meant to be. Man, the land, animals, plants, air—everything is touched and infused by sin. Thus, the consequences of that fallen nature impact everything. Even in this corrupted, tainted world, including our sinful selves, we have a God who offers His love and grace (John 3:16, 10:10; Rom. 5:1) if only we will reach out and respond. However, we cannot; so, His Son, the Christ, lived as we should have (Rom. 5:8; 1 Tim. 2:5; 1 Pet. 3:18). In our place, He took our sins to the grave, and arose to give us eternal hope and life.
Even with the grace option offered to us, which is written upon our hearts, we still choose to rebel (Prov. 14:12; Isa. 59:2; Rom. 3:23, 6:23). We choose to take His wonder, love, and truth, and trade it in for lies (Rom. 1:18-31). We desire to suppress His truth and love; and, when it all falls apart, we blame God and others, refusing to take the responsibility for ourselves (Gen. 3:12-13; Rom. 14:12-13)!

Remember, God is still in control and by His sovereignty, He permits suffering and evil. However, at the same time, He keeps it under His control. He wins out; evil does not get off on a technicality, or an early pardon. Sin and evil will be judged (Psalm 1:5; 9:7; 94:15; 143:2; Eccl. 11:9; Isa. 16:5; Matt. 12:36; John 5:22; Romans 2:1-3; Romans 14:10 ; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Thess. 1:5 ; 1 Tim. 5:24 ; Heb. 9:27 ; James 2:13 ; James 4:11; 1 Peter 4:17; 2 Peter 3:7; 1 John 4:17; Rev. 20:12)! God is a God of mercy and a God that is Just. Evil will not go unpunished! At the same time, those who repent will be declared clean and innocent!
Rkrejcir says:

A question:
how do you come to this conclusion from this passage?
I read it:
Ezekiel 28:12-15 (New International Version)
12 “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the “king of Tyre” (a Hebrew name for Satan, in Jesus’ time, Tyre, like Sidon were considered the most wicked and pagan cities that had ever existed, to be its king ment being Satan.) and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:
” ‘You were the model of perfection,
full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden,
the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
ruby, topaz and emerald,
chrysolite, onyx and jasper,
sapphire, [a] turquoise and beryl. [b]
Your settings and mountings [c] were made of gold;
on the day you were created they were prepared.
14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub,
for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.
15 You were blameless in your ways
from the day you were created
till wickedness was found in you.
Hope this helps…Be blessed!
Why is it so important for man to believe that satan or evil was created. God created everything we know, period. Ezeliel 28 nor any other scripture states that satan was created. Ezekiel 28 is about the port of Tyre and God and Israel unhappy with it’s actions. Yes satan is a fallenangel from God’s heavenly home but he wasn’t considered evil until he introduced evil to man through the deception of Adam and Eve. When God sent them out of the garden it was so they couldn’t eat of the tree of Life and become immortal. Being new to good and evil and the flesh leans more to evil God had to let men learn and control good and evil before they can become immortal. God and the host of Heaven clearly know good and evil and the creation of man caused some to weaken towards the distructive thrillof the world. Everything we kow or learn has come from God. Good and evil is known, not created.
Ezekiel 28 (King James Version)
Ezekiel 28 (KJV)
1The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
When I read this whole chapter I see hear in verse 2 where it calls this prince a man not Lucifer,angle,or even satan. Hope this helps
Isaiah 14-16 (KJV)
16They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
Hear again we see its talking about a man. Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon O Lucifer, son of the morning!this is referring to the first ever kingdom mentioned .We see this in Daniels vision the head of gold.Daniel 2 (King James Version)be sure and read the whole chapter.Hope this helps
God did not create Satan man did. As referenced in Rkrejcir’s post God created Lucifer and Lucifer was in Eden with man prior to his fall. When God created man he gave him dominion over the earth.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Gen 1:26
Man created Satan when he chose to disobey God and obey Satan and handed his dominion of the earth over to Satan. Thus Satan is called the God of this world. 2 Cor 4:4. This act gave Satan dominion over the earth including man. This is why Christ had to come as a man to reclaim the authority lost through Adam.
God does not lie or go back on his word. He also does not micromanage this world. Man was given this world and man gave it over to Satan. God was not willing to take it back and make himself a liar which is why Christ had to purchase it with his blood.
God does not conceive of or plan evil. He does not bring temptation or evil upon man. It grieves Him, but he is bound by His covenants and His word. Through His love he has provided mercy and grace to his rebellious creation, but the evil done as a result of disobedience was not his will or plan.
Something else to consider. The fall of Satan is listed in scripture. Lucifer walked in Eden, not Satan. The fall of Satan is recorded in Genesis 3:
14The LORD God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
Cursed are you more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you will go,
And dust you will eat
All the days of your life;
15And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.”
The third of the stars listed in Revelations is also symbolic. Some think Satan and a third of the angels made an attack on God. Consider the idea that the war was defensive on Satan’s part. Not an attack, but an effort to resist being thrown from paradise to earth. I am not sure of the meaning of symbolism in Revelation 12, but I am sure that the fall is the account listed in Genesis 3.
One thing people over look in Jeremiah 17;9 how that the heart of man is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. THE words above all things are the key to unlock who and what is satan I see that satan is a man look at Mark 8;33 tell me what you thank and look at ST John 8;44 and look at ROMANS 5;12. I hope God give you the understanding of his WORD in EZEKIEL 28 he is talking about a man on the earth it say thou art a man, you see man is the only thing created in Gods image.Man became satan or devil when he disobeyed the voice of GOD.The serpent is a symbolic representation of the HEART OF MAN.SO WHY DID GOD CREATE SATAN, FOR HIS PURPOSE look at ROMANS9;17-23.MY GOD BLESS ALL WHO READ THIS.
The only clear definitions of satan I can find are;
1. satan is not the serpent of Genisis 3. The serpent was clearly a wild animal and was confined to crawl on his/her belly forever.
2. satan was able to be amoung the sons of God when they came before God and he was reporting on the performance of his job that was obviously a part of God’s acceptance. In Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy? God was talking to Job and his friends aking where they were when He created the world? The statement clearly maintains that there were sons of God prior to the completion of creation however there is no clear definition of satan’s status other than being evil or a deceiver or an accuser.
3.In Zechariah 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. satan was now standing with an Angel of the Lord but not identified as an angel but an accuser which is his only clear definition of status however in the next verse Zechariah 3:2 The LORD said to Satan, The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire? the Lord clearly rebukes satan durring the ordination of Joshua in Heaven. This is also prohesy of the final high priest to be ordained Jesus Christ. If this is true then the fall of satan and angels that followed him came after Christs decent to Heaven and durring His ordination as the last and eternal High Priest of God.
Isaiah 45:7
I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things.’
Did God create satan? Don’t know, but I do know evil or satan was included in mans walk in this world when Adam and Eve ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. I do know that satan was included in God’s plan or he wouldn’t have been allowed in meetings with him. I also know that now that Jesus Christ has become the author of our Salvation that we can now be considered as sons of God as long as we enter into Christs Salvation and rebuke satan or evil. And finally, if you recognize evil you recognize satan so rebuke it through the Lord thy God.
In the very beginning “Genesis” “ALL” thngs were created by God,including the serpent who was the most subtil beast of the field. The serpent “spoke” to Eve. I have never heard a serpent speak. ALL of the attributes of the devil, serpent, satan, etc., describes mankind.
To: ilovetruth
The truth of the description in Genesis is that the serpant was a beast of the field. This beast of the field spoke to Eve and mis-guided her into eating of the Tree of Knowledge and was cursed by God for doing so. The serpents curse was to crawl on it’s belly forever which could also lead to an understanding that prior to the lie to Eve the serpent possibly had arms and legs and walked, which is not mentioned inthe writings.
While I can’t say yes or no that animals could communicate with man in the garden,interestingly the animals seemed to coexist in harmony and obvious understanding with man until after the flood. Genesis 9:1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
There is also another story Numbers 22:28 Then the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?â€
The Jews identified the word satan as the accuser or deciever or evil. This satan was amongst the sons of God when they met with Him in Job and this satan had a conversation and defined job. This satan is not the serpent, but the serpent was a tool of this satan because the serpent decieved Eve. There was good and evil known in heaven as is obvious y the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam and Eve allowed that evil into the world. Mankind is not satan or evil, mankind is the recipient of good and evil and they make there own choice of which to live by. The devil, the beast, the serpent, the beast, the anti-christ and all other terrible creatures and humans have one thing in common. they have all accepted satan (evil) as their god.
Excerpt from ‘Myths to live by” bye the author Joeseph Campbell:
“One of the most amazing images of love that I know is Persian–a mystical Persian representation of Satan as the most loyal lover of God. You will have heard the old legend of how, when God created the angels he commanded them to bow in reverence to this most noble of his works, and Lucifer–because, we are told, of his pride. However, according to this Moslem reading of his case, it was rather because he loved and adored God so deeply and intensely that he could not bring himself to bow before anything else. and it was for that that he was flung into hell, condemned to exist there forever, apart from his love. Now it has been said that of all pains of hell, the worst is neither fire nor stench but the deprivation forever of the beatific sight of God. How infinitely painful, then, must the exile of this great lover be, who could not bring himself even on Gods own word to bow before any other being! The Persian poets have asked, “By what power is Satan sustained?” And the answer that they have found is this; “By his memory of the sound of God’s voice when he said, ‘Be gone!’ “
It was clear to Jesus that evil is a reality, an independent, autonomous agency apposed to God’s will but apparently allowed by God to exist for reasons never made clear, yet He never doubted or questioned for a moment that God’s ultimate intention was love and creativity.
Jesus never tells us why God tolerates the existance of evel in creation, though we may surmise that without evil the possibilities of moral choice and psycological and spiritual growth would be impossible. (Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden would have remaned moral and spiritual idiots). However He does tell us that God knows about the existance of evil, even that He has a mysterious connection of some kind with it. (Matt. 6:13)
Some may even say that this aspect of God shows that He has some sort of “dark side” but what we need to understand is that this “dark side” is intent on destroying everything that is not fit to exist and on forcing the growth of the highest moral and psychological virtues. Evil on the other hand, seeks to destroy what is good, whole and sound. unless this distinction is clearly drown in our minds we will fall into confusion about the matter of evil and Jesus’ view of it, but the mystery of why God allows evil in His creation is left unresolved. It is better not to have a theory of evil that provides all the answers. If out of our ignorance, we come to believe we have all the truth, we may be sure the ultimate truth will escape us.
In speaking of His forthcoming betrayal by Judas, He speaks of the necessity for the evil of the betrayal, yet warns against the fate that befalls those who serve the purpose of evil. (Luke 22:22) Evil approaches the human ego and forces it to choose. Human beings must exert their consciousness to the ultimate in order to avoid becoming a part of evil. Not only spiritual growth but consciousness itself requires evil and hard, real choices for its very existence. (Luke 22:31-32)
