this i really wanna know because i have so many opertunities for christian woman and so few answers at this point and i dont know what to do.. prayer is good but i havent been told nothing of what to do.
He did for Isaac when Abrahams servant was out looking for a wife for him (Isaac):
Gen 24
12 Then he prayed, “O LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. 13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. 14 May it be that when I say to a girl, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’-let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”
15 Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor. 16 The girl was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever lain with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again.
17 The servant hurried to meet her and said, “Please give me a little water from your jar.”
18 “Drink, my lord,” she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink.
19 After she had given him a drink, she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have finished drinking.” 20 So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels. 21 Without saying a word, the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the LORD had made his journey successful.
I think that God’s plan is different for each one of us. He might plan for me to get married in a few years to some-one who isn’t actually a Christian, and we fight and he beats me and stuff, and I leave him and go off to Brazil for a holiday to recover, feel spiritually challenged to work there, start up an orphanage, and meet some-one else on the field whom I end up marrying. Or I might remain single for ever, Or I might drop out of college to marry my current boyfriend, and after 10 years he dies, and I grow spiritually through my grief, then meet his old best friend, and we comfort each other, then I eventually marry him, and he dies of cancer, then I go to work in London with prostitutes, and while working there I help convert a drug addict, then I end up marrying him. Or I might… (on and on) Basically, we have free will, but God knows what will happen.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD – Jeremiah 29:11
I have been divorced for 20 years.. I am 56 and I am a Christian.. Yes, I pray that God will send me someone.. but it doesn’t happen.. I just forget it and be happy.. but I can only stand so much happiness.
my daughter is involved with a christian man who is younger than her. He is 27, she is 44 years old. 17 years older than he. My daughter has asked me for advice. This young man wishes to marry her and she is scared that because of this large age difference, it might not work. My daughter says this man is a God fearing man, hard working and loves her. He is kind generous and they enjoy reading scripture together. Sounds great; however, my daughter has 3 children:19,14,&7 years old. She is a recovering drug addict, and the children’s father was abusive. I don’t want to kill her joy but I can’t honestly say that I approve of their relationship. I am going to Fast and ask God to give me the right words to say to them. (I am going to meet him soon). I want to be honest and fair with my decisions but only when God speaks through me . I feel bad that my daughter is desperate for love and has allowed it to cloud her intentions. As for this young man, I can only pray that he has consulted with God. This young man also has alot on the line. My daughter’s age, and past might not be the right relationship for him. Please pray for us that we trust God to guide us the right way.
