King Artaxerxes is ruling Persia. Nehemiah gets permission to rebuild Jerusalem with timber from the king's forests. Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem oppose Nehemiah with threats and tricks. Nehemiah sets a guard and the people work to rebuild. The task is finally complete and the people rejoice.
