Ham in the Bible - a Christian perspective

Ham was a son of Noah and the father of Canaan. In this passage we read of how he came across his father naked and told his brothers about it. His brothers laid a garment over Noah. When Noah awoke he cursed Ham and made him a slave to his brothers.

I just read your commentary on Ham and his son Canaan, seeing Noah’s nakedness, and Noah cursing one of them. You said Noah cursed Hamm, but the scriptures say “cursed be Canaan”. Noah could not curse Ham, because when they came out of the ark, scripture says “God blessed Noah and His sons. Noah could not curse what God had blessed. This makes me suspect of your commentary on the scriptures.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
