Heat in the Bible - a Christian perspective

The Bible teaches that the earth will be destroyed one day by fire, and that nothing will be able to withstand the heat. Knowing that the world will one day be destroyed and remade, it's our job to remain faithful to God while we live.

I have heard of a scripture that describes flesh melting in intense heat. I think this could refer to nuclear war. But I can’t find this reference. Can you help?

Brachel, might 2 Peter 3:11-12 be what you’re looking for? http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20peter%203:11-12&version=NIV

“Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.”

It’s not the exact phrase you mention, but it does talk about a searing heat melting the very elements.
