Help the poor - a Christian perspective
One of the themes common throughout the entire Bible is the importance of caring for the poor and downtrodden. This passage from Leviticus is mirrored in countless other places in the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments.

For Christians in search of How To Help The Poor:
As a parent, I believe that we should allow our children to learn to find financial freedom. However recently, I was forced to re-evaluate that position.
A woman told about her brother who went into a diabetic coma, became a quadriplegic, has had to be fed through an NG tube, has had a tracheotomy and has lived on dialysis for that last 13 years. I do not know how to contact them. Like that man, my daughter has a serious case of diabetes type I.
Many people with a debilitating disease find that they cannot hold a job and as a result meter out their medication and food so as to pay for the most essential of needs – shelter. My daughter shares this plight – unable to hold a job.
I have decided that I must contribute to her living conditions so as to help her battle her medical condition. However, I am not in a financial position to follow through with this commitment for much of an extended period of time. Not long ago, I lost my house and all of my retirement.
There are those who have been blessed with a financial abundance that far exceeds their needs, and who are in search of a particular person whose needs they would like to help meet. Please, I am requesting that you pass this on to people who may be able to help.
