Idol - a Christian perspective
One of the Ten Commandments is this command to not worship idols or any created thing. God alone is worthy of our worship--not anything else in earth or heaven.

Is it appropriate/inappropriate for a Christian to display artwork that would be recognized as an idol in another culture? When is an idol an idol? Do we focus on the literal of “graven image” while ignoring the point. In the “Sermon on the Mount”, Jesus clarified the 10 Commandments. What would He have said in regard to this one?
Some months ago the Taliban attempted to destroy ancient Bayiman religious sculptures. The followingwas said:
“We are not against culture but we don’t believe in these things. They are against Islam,” the Taliban’s Foreign Minister Wakil Ahmed Muttawakil is reported to have said.”
Should Christians have endorsed this? What do I do with the jade carving of “The moon goodess” in my house? It has absolutely no religious significance for me but is simply a piece of Asian art. How does this fit with “all things are lawful but not all things are beneficial.”
Is it art or do you bow to it?
This is about who and what you Worship, as in awe and praise, worship in Biblical language is a proclamation of respect given to a king or an idol (1 Sam. 24:8; 25:23). Jesus, being God, who rescues us, deserves our utmost respect, awe, and praise. This praise must not be given to anyone or anything else! Even Christa symbols need only be a symbol of who Christ was and what He was to do on our behalf that is honored. Those who seek a relic, a substitute for the Christ or to replace Him, seek adventure and an idol to worship and control, not the real substance that the cup represents. The real honor is our trust and obedience to His commission and sacrament.
Thus if it is just art then there is no problem, go to God in prayer and seek wise council, be blessed!
I’m agree with you. In my church also there is a problem about piece of art like statue. In my opinion if not be worshiped it’s ok for me
