Jealousy in the Bible: Galatians 5:19-21
While many of us might consider jealousy to be a "minor" sin, the Bible makes it clear that it's an offense to God. This passage lists it along with other actions that are indicative of a sinful nature.

This is the most common error in the church. The sin related here is envy NOT jealousy. Jealousy protects what is his, but envy covets what is others. Covetousness, like adultery, is discontent with the blessings given and is sin. God is often jealous himself and therfore cannot be sin. ie.Exodus 34:14
‘Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.’
Our error comes when we confuse what is ours to protect. 1Cor13:4,7
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. … 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
So let us learn to be like our God and know when, and how to be jealous in our relationships.
