Research insights into the Date of Revelation - Into Thy Word Ministries

Why is the dating of Revelation so important? Because it sets up what approach or view one will take—which of the four. Two of them, the Preterist and Futurist views, are predominately hinged on it.

  1. Still like DOS says:

I think that we do need to be very careful with this book.

“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If any one of you adds anything to them, God will add to you the plagues described in this scroll. And if any one of you takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from you your share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” (Rev.22:18-19)

I also believe that if we separate our understanding of Revelation from the old prophets of the O.T. we are in danger of violating the above rules. I see people talking it all the time who know nothing about the O.T. prophets. But examine Revlation 10:7. “… just as he announced to his servants, the prophets.”
