Restoration - a Christian perspective

The idea of restoration runs through the entire Bible. Here, the prophet Amos prophesies that God will restore His chosen people from their despair and their fallen state.

  1. Rachell says:

The bible says in 1 Samuel 30: 8 “Pursue them”, he answered. You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
When David came to Ziklag he found the women (including his two wives) and everyone else young and old taken captive. He, a man of God, a King, found that the enemy has stolen from him. He found himself in position of hopelessness, a position of isolation. Ziklag can mean many different things for different people but the Lord place it on my heart what it could mean for some people. It could mean that your children have been taken captive by drugs or the ways of the world; it could mean that you could not keep you family together; that your marriage is falling apart; or that the bank wants to repossess your car; it could mean that your health has been taken away from you and that the report from your doctor is a bad report. So Ziklag is a place where the devil put his hands on your stuff or your family or what is yours. It is a place where the devil indiscriminately takes what does not belong to him. But be of good cheer and know that like with David, the enemy will return all that is yours and more. Like David, we will enquire of the Lord and He will answer: “Pursue them”, he answered. You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.” Stop being afraid, stop backing off whilst the fight is on, stop allowing the devil to take what is yours. The Lord will send someone to you that you need to help, someone that might not be in Christ like the slave of the Amelekites. Help him and he will be the one that the Lord will use to help you. David gave the slave food and water and was asked not to kill him. We do not turn on these in need. When refreshed by the food the man helped david. By doing this good deed David and his men were strengthen. They were strengthen so much that when the reached the enemy the fought for 2 days non stop. Do not stop in the midst of the fight. The Lord send his angels to minister to you. The Lord strengthens you physically (food and water) and spiritually with courage and faith. When the fight is won, when you freed and released what is yours, when you have also taken with you the enemies’ stuff, than you must remember the name of the Lord. Then you share your spoils with those that could not go with you. Then you disburse to charities abroad and make a fragrant offering unto the Lord.
Prayer: May you through your authority in Christ pursue and overtake the enemy and have the success that the Lord speaks into our hearts.
    Scripture : 1 Samuel 30

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
