Review of The Culture-Wise Family

For those of us who work with teenagers, we are aware of the vast influence of mass media in their lives. Most teenagers spend hours a day listening to music, watching television, or surfing the internet.

I have two teenage girls that are wondering why we need to eat as a family and do (not so fun) family things together, is there anything specific in the bible that I can give them to help them understand??? My email is shellthomas@yahoo.com

well, there is no specific verse as far as i know about certain family values. but use the basic 6th commandment tell your children that the bible states to honor and obey your parents and that it would mean alot to you to have dinner as a family! but there is no specific verses for things such as have family dinners, bible discussions, family time in general!there is not a specific verse for such things, those are just ideas for building a christian family, therefore like i said use a distant verse (exodus 20:12) to get your children to feel more open to your request of a family time dinner

I have a twelve year old who has become very rebellious. She questions every demand and/or expectation required of her (ex: when asked to make her bed,she made the commit, “Why I’m only going to get back in the bed tonight”.) I return with cleanliness is next to Godliness. This past week she asked why do we go to church? And how do one know if God is truly real or something some one has made up to control what we say and do?
I have been absolutely floored by the questions and sudden change in behavior. Is there anything suggestions for the sudden changes in my child. Is there anywhere in the bible i can go to he me such challenges as those above?
