Spiritual gifts in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 12:1-31

Hi, I met a man today who is a christian who told me he does not believe that God gives us spiritual gifts, because he thinks people uss tham for their own gain, and soes not think he has a gift. how can I show him that gifts are free and he also have a gift?
