So which is it? Does God do the fighting, while we “rest in Him,” or do we have to fight against the enemies of our souls? According to Scripture, the answer is, Yes.

Yes, we have to fight in the physical, while God fights the spiritual for us. For example, all believers go through a waiting period in whicg they are tested and tried. We must be strong and have faith in God’s process. In essence, waiting means to exercise patience, faith and focus on God’s plans. No matter how impatient we might be, we still have to wait on the Lord in order to allow Him to order our steps. The psalmist, David, gives us an example of what our focus should on while we wait, he said: My soul, waits thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved (Psalm 62:5-6), and again he stressed: I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning (Psalm 130:5-6).
