When you fast - a Christian perspective

It's fine for Christians to fast and undertake other acts of devotion, but when we do, it's important not to make a big public act out of it. The goal should never be to get attention for ourselves, but to focus our thoughts on God.

  1. yoyo says:

When I fast I let very few people know. To me it takes away from the importance of the fast. Usually it is only my wife and one or two close spiritual friends. At times it has been only my wife and occasionally not even she is aware that is what I am doing.

  2. lizzi says:

i try not to let people know that I am fasting but will mention it if it is necessary and also when i get answers from God I let those around me know that i have fasted. But I agree it should be between you and God alone :)
