You need to turn your heart to God for your answer. You need to look to him for the emotional/spiritual support that your husband is unable to give you at the time. You need to pray that God will give your spouse a hunger to seek him as you have done. My spouse does not share my faith but my love for him and my desire to share eternity with him keeps me praying and sharing and being an example of who Christ is. I know that I am not responsible for my husband as far as his accepting Christ, but I know that I am going to display who Jesus is and my prayer is that I do just that. In putting God on the throne of my heart I have found a contentment in who I am in my marraige and yes I am sad that my husband does not share my faith but with God’s help my hubby will one day start asking questions and then he will be ready to listen to why I believe the way I do.

Etterwoman, it sounds like you have an excellent perspective. I’m sure it’s a challenge not sharing the same faith with your spouse, but I think your prayerful attitude is the best possible response to the situation.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
