the use of the word "Allah" - Joshua Massey

This is a question of translation. The church in the west has based their translation of the New Testament on the Greek which when you look on the surface is a great translation. However, these letters and accounts were written by Jews who believe in Jesus but the mindset and ideology of previous lifestyle has been removed in translating everything word to modern languages and not retaining the Jewish aspect. In saying this, I think we need to consider the eastern church having the New Testament in Aramaic the very language of Jesus and disciples. This language stems from Hebrew, the Latin of the Middle East, of which Arabic is one. God has many names to mark a point of time in His story could Allah or in Aramaic, Allaha be a marked point lost in our thirst to be stubborn and not investigative in seeking Jesus by looking at all translations and origins of the documents. Jesus is truth and we need to look into our translation and if possible learn the richness of these languages as they offer more than a glimpse of God but a profound understanding. Without knowledge of the truth and willingness to look in the mirror regularly we do ourselves and non-christians an injustice by standing on faith in Jesus and the truth. What else can you call God, Abba, Yehova, Father….? He has plenty of names, the main concern for Christians is believing the door to God is His son Jesus. It is on this we base our faith.

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
