"An eye for an eye" in the Bible: Matthew 5:38-39
Jesus' interpretation of the famous an eye for an eye verse from the Old Testament attempts to get to the heart of the matter. He says, that although we've heard an eye for an eye we should instead not try to resist an evil person. Instead we should turn the other cheek.
