"Beat my body" in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 9:27
While Paul might have been exaggerating when he said "I beat my body and make it my slave", his sentiment is worthy for all to understand. He knows that without discipline and mastery of his body he might disqualify himself from the very prize of salvation that he preached so passionately about.
