Bible Concordance :: Messiah
Hebrew word meaning "anointed" or "chosen one." The Greek word used in the New Testament for "anointed" is Christ. In the Old Testament, God promised to send a special person called the Messiah. This new king would save God's people. (Psalm 2; Isaiah 9:6-7; Isaiah 11:1-9; Daniel 7:13-14)
