A Battlefield Christmas - #6771
Sin is the "all about me" choices that we've all made. Who hasn't? And it's because ultimately, we've hijacked our lives from the God who gave us our life. Where does that take us: Broken relationships, broken promises, broken dreams, broken marriages, broken hearts. And Jesus won when He came and paid our death penalty on that cross.
Every Scar Has a Story - #6602
the scars of Jesus tell the story of how very much He loves you. There's an old hymn that says it pretty well, "I shall know Him, I shall know Him, as redeemed by His side I shall stand. I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side by the print of the nails in His hands."
Still There After the Storm - #6468
The cross still stands, proclaiming that God still loves me when it's too dark to see His face. The cross is there, assuring me I am forgiven when the guilt and the regret are trying to drag me into their pit. The cross remains, reminding me that Jesus has beaten death when death seems to be winning. The cross stands tall, declaring "This is not the end. There is a future beyond this darkness, and I'll be there to build that future with you."
The Recorder is Always Running - #6404
Today God stands ready to forgive and remove every sin you've ever committed in your life. To in His words, "...bury it in the depths of the sea." It's a wonderful, wonderful way to live. Today could be your day to be forgiven, and that happens when you go to Jesus and say, "Jesus, what You died for, I want. I believe You died for my sinning, and I am Yours."
You Can't Make it Go Away - #6333
If you're hoping to pay off sin with some good things you do, and you think that will work at your appointment with God, it's not going to work. The payment has already been made. The only question God will ask you is not, "What did you do with church?" But, "What did you do with My Son who died for you?"
Why God Sends the Storm - #6101
Could it be that the storm that's hit you lately - the storm that even threatens to break up your ship - is God's tool to drive you into His arms? Not because He's mad at you, but because He loves you.
When You're Tired of Love With Strings - #6071
We couldn't make it home to a sinless God with a lifetime of sin. The only way your sin and mine could be forgiven was for someone to pay the penalty for it, and someone did. God's Son did. Only He could. Picture in your mind that awful scene of Jesus on that cross, suspended by three nails, bleeding and dying in anguish. Then say these two words, "For me. He's dying there for every lie I've ever told, every hurt I've ever inflicted, every dirty or selfish thing I've ever done."
When You've Been Hurt By Friendly Fire - #6052
Let go of the resentment instead of letting it grow. Ask the God who has forgiven you so much to give you His grace to forgive those who've hurt you. The feelings you harbor aren't hurting them at all, but they're killing you!
Paving Over It - #2573
The biggest problem of all - the sin that haunts our past, poisons our present, and threatens our future. Covering it will not work - removing it will. Only Jesus can do that. He's waiting for you to ask Him to.
Life-Saving Pain - #5921
The longer you refuse to repent of your sin, the more God is going to turn up the pain, and the higher price you're going to pay. Not because He doesn't love you, but because He does; too much to let you keep going down a road that's destroying you.
