Godliness - a Christian perspective
On our own, we cannot achieve true godliness--that requires God's redemptive work in our lives. But for His believers, He provides all that they need to live godly and righteous lives.

Setting the Temperature - #5820
You put Joseph in a great situation and he's the trusted person, the one who says yes to responsibility. Put him in a terrible situation, he is the same man; making things better, changing his environment, setting a positive climate. That is a thermostat. And, that's what the people around you need you to be. Grownup people, godly people, make a difference people respond to situations, not from the environment around them or the feelings that they're feeling, but from the character inside them - the Lord who's inside them!

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Impressive on the Outside, Nothing on the Inside - #5666
You're missing Jesus in your heart. Even religious people can miss Him. Your Christian exterior may actually have allowed you to believe that you have Jesus when, in reality, you've never consciously given yourself to the Man who died to pay for all your sin. If you're tired of just repainting the scenery of your life and improving the exterior, why not open the door of that set and let Jesus into the emptiness inside.
