Jesus the high priest - a Christian perspective
Just like the priests of the Old Testament interceded between God and man, so Jesus Christ pleads our case before God. He is the ultimate high priest, securing complete forgiveness for our sins and restoring our relationship with God.

New testament - a Christian perspective
The New Testament (or "new covenant") is the covenant that Jesus has mediated between God and man. Through this new covenant, Christ pays for our sins and we receive salvation. This new covenant takes the place of the Old Testament, in which all people stood condemned by the law for their sin.

High priest in the Bible: Hebrews 4:14-16
Jesus is described as our "high priest"--meaning that he stands as a mediator between us and a God that we otherwise could not approach.

Hebrews 8:1-13 - Into Thy Word Ministries
Christ our High Priest! The main point is this: Jesus Christ is our High Priest; He sits in honor at God’s right hand and ministers to us, His people.

Hebrews 5:1-10 - Into Thy Word Ministries

Hebrews 4:14-16 - Into Thy Word Ministries
Jesus our High Priest! We have a great High Priest; we do not need anyone to mediate between God and us as Christ is God and we can go directly to Him.
