The Boss Is the Glue - #6968

A Heroic Ambassador - #6734
For a Jesus-ambassador, that message is clear. 1 Corinthians 2:2 - "Nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." Uncluttered by politics, my church, or my religion, personal hobby-horses, culture issues, or lifestyle attacks. Just Jesus and His cross. A message so eternally important that it needs to be delivered, not in my churchy "Christianese" language, but in the non-religious language of the people that I'm there to reach.

The Right Choice This Election
My bottom line - there's no issue worth losing an eternal soul for. So I'm going to stick to Jesus. Because when God looks at this world, He doesn't see Republicans or Democrats, liberals or conservatives. He sees only two groups of people. Saved. And lost.

Braving the Cold, Building a Fire - #6652

Take some risks to reach your neighbor, to give, to reach out to other people, to see your time, your money, your influence, your building, and your talent as a resource to take Christ's warmth into a cold, cold world. Hurricane Heroes - #6599
How much longer can we, as His Church, just keep waiting for the dying people to come to us? They're not. We have to take the life-saving Gospel of Jesus outside the walls of the life-saving station; to the street, to the office, to the plant, to the campus, the neighborhood, our service club, that nursing home, take it to the jail, take it to the gym. How can we be content any longer to sit inside our stained glass cocoon while just outside so many are dying in the storm?

So Much Hurt - #6571
When our son was three years old, we visited the U.S. Capitol in Washington. I remember him looking up that massive flight of steps and thinking, "Man, there's no way." Well, he made it to the top, because his Daddy carried him where he couldn't go. See, when you can't walk, your Father will carry you. I really can do "all things through Christ who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13), because Jesus really is enough.

Breaking Rules, Saving Lives - #6525
Rescuing? It always means risking, including the misunderstanding, the criticism of people who love the "rules" but aren't reaching the lost. Jesus knows about that. Remember? Yeah, He made the "rules people" very uncomfortable. So they crucified Him, and we were saved.

Who Stole the Cross? - #6479
We should be outraged! We've allowed Jesus' cross to be stolen from the center of our hearts, and our ministries, and our conversations. "The message of the cross," 1 Corinthians 1:18 says, "is...the power of God." I need to be as passionate about elevating that cross as the world and the devil are about eliminating it.
