Mite in the Bible: Mark 12:41-43
The story of the widow's mite is a tremendous example of sacrificial giving. After seeing a number of people give large sums of money, a poor widow came and put her two coins in the coffer. Jesus told his disciples, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others."
