Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Right Answers Under Pressure
We all know the feeling of the Jeopardy contestants. We’ve been in a conversation with our boss or our parents, we’ve dealt with one of our children on a key issue, we’ve tried to speak to a friend about the Lord, and the right answer is really important.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Reservation Tested
Luke 4:1-4 tells the familiar story of the temptation of Jesus. It says, “Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. The devil said to him, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.’ Jesus answered, ‘It is written, Man does not live on bread alone.'" There are two more temptations that come right at Jesus, and He answers each time with the Word of God. When the devil finally gives up and leaves, it says in Luke 4:14-15, “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. He taught in their synagogues, and everyone praised him.” That was the beginning of the public ministry of Jesus Christ.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - How to See Through Your Blind Spot
It is pretty clear what God is saying here. Wise people know how to accept correction and criticism. We need the people around us who confront us, challenge us, and even criticize us because we all have a blind spot. We all have weaknesses in ourselves we cannot see. There are hurtful ways we treat people, ways we say things, ways we act when we’re busy or tired, or ways we abuse the truth, people’s feelings, and biblical boundaries. Some of our most entrenched sins are often sins we cannot see very well. We are so used to doing things a certain way that we will never see some sins without the help of someone else.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Unstuffing Adventure
Jesus says here that putting His agenda first means “unstuffing.” Look at all you've accumulated, see what you could do without, and give it away to make a difference for Jesus. Hudson Taylor, the great pioneer missionary to China, wrote in his book To China with Love some really challenging words.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Your Own Personal Ump
This peace comes as you bring a choice to God. Come to Him with a blank piece of paper and say, “God, You know what I would like, but I’m not going to give You a contract to sign. This is my blank piece of paper. What do You want?” As you pray it through, you will find that one way or one road feels right most of the time. This is not rushed prayer. You must have time to let God put His thoughts into your heart. As you get off your knees and start to go through the day, the peace of Christ is going to be challenged by lots of other voices, like the umpire challenged by all those people in the stands. God’s will starts to seem a little less clear.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - When Lifeguards Forget The Beach
Those who know Christ are God’s lifeguards. You are assigned to rescue other dying people as you were rescued. Maybe you tend to get in your lifeguard station—church—and stay there. You have lifeguard meetings, lifeguard songs, lifeguard offerings, and lifeguard equipment, but maybe you forget to go to the beach where the people who need you are.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Child Test
If you want to be great, be a servant. If you want to be a servant, show how you treat children. This is so important because to be a leader for Jesus, we don’t promote ourselves, we promote other people. We make ourselves available for their needs. Nowhere does this show up more than in how we respond to a child. ... Children have no money. They have no influence. They have no votes. The issue is how you treat people who can’t do anything for you. For many adults, a child is a bother and a not someone that matters. A child is often in the way of our adult business, but they are supposed to be our most important adult business.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Only a Reflection
Mirror Lake, in that dark cavern, has little beauty of its own. It’s really an underground puddle. It reflects the beauty of what is above it, and that makes it come to life. The same thing can happen to you, if you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are spending time with Him. If you allow Him to transform you and make you more like Him, it is possible as an ordinary human being to have an extraordinary impact on someone’s life simply because you display Jesus to them.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Getting Your Mouth Open
Years ago God was saying to His people—and today He is saying to us—that His people are under-living. There is so much more He wants to give you and do for you. There is a voice inside many of us that is saying, “There has got to be something more in this relationship with Christ and in this Christian living.” ... This is not news to make us materially prosperous, but to know that God has more power, more peace, more love, and more significance to open up our lives so we can really make a difference. The problem is that He can’t get our mouths open, just like trying to feed a baby. God wants us to want His best for our lives, but we have to open our mouths.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - 'New' Is More Than A Smell
These people must have had the fragrance of a Christian, but Jesus says He doesn’t know them. He is saying here that it is possible to look very Christian on the outside, even to be in significant Christian leadership, but to somehow miss Jesus—and miss heaven. It is easy to fall into a faith that is in our heads but never gets to our hearts. We can have Christian vocabulary, a Christian image, a Christian schedule, Christian habits, and all the aromas of someone who really knows Christ, but somehow miss the one transaction that really makes us God’s.
