Jordan in the Bible - a Christian perspective
In Joshua 3 we read about the transportation of the ark of the covenant across the River Jordan. The priests who carried the ark went up to the water's edge and as soon as they put their feet in it, the water of the River Jordan backed up. Much like Moses' parting the Red Sea, the Israelites were able to walk across with no problems.
