Pillar of salt - a Christian perspective
When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, he rescued Lot and his family from the devastation. But Lot's wife turned and looked back, despite a command to the contrary, and became a pillar of salt. Her death is sometimes taken as a lesson about looking back fondly at sin.
